The System

Kerbway is a kerb-in-line inlet system, based on the Manning 800 x 500 grate.  The inlets feature 90mm kerb openings ensuring child safety satisfying Qudm 7.04.2 and 7.05.3.   By retaining an intact kerb line the inlets ensure that vehicular and pedestrian safety are not compromised. The inlets are suitable for all classes of road from arterials and highways to residential roads and town housing.

Hydraulics

The Manning grate with bars aligned with the flow, ensures very high hydraulic efficiency across the range of approach grades from 0.5% to 16%.  The inlets deliver better than or comparable capture to other kerb in line inlets with much larger transverse bar grates.

Capture Charts

The reliable capture curves, including those for centre of road and field inlets, are derived from comprehensive full scale testing at the Urban  Water Resources Centre of the University of South Australia. An interactive capture design aid is also downloadable.
